Went today for lunch. The refurb is really lovely. The Guinness was excellent. The food was fab. I ordered the steak and blue cheese sandwich - the steak was so tender and not tough at all. Probably the best steak sandwich I have ever had. The hand cut chips where good but slightly steep on the pricing front for the size. My mum had the Korean chicken starter which was also lush. Only feedback is to consider putting some dressing on the side salad. Would have loved to have a dessert but we were in a bit of a rush. Definitely next time. We will be back
We came to eat as a party of 12. The service was excellent.... Starters, main courses and desserts all excellent. All of us enjoyed our food and nothing to complain about. Thankyou for having us
Amazing Roast beef dinner yesterday. Just moved to the area and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming & it’s only 2 minutes from our doorstep, happy days
Had a great stay here in September 2024, room was fabulous, super comfy and stylish and immaculately clean! Really great nights sleep! Someone who really cares about a great guest experience has planned this! Plenty of parking and DOG FRIENDLY! A lovely warm welcome in the heart of North Yorkshire. Highly recommend for a stay :)
Excellent accommodation in a convenient location, all the staff were fantastic had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast was superb we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation 10/10
Newly reopened 18/4/25 following a refit. It is even more pleasant indoors, with subtle decor, comfortable furnishings and a new menu. Dog and human friendly pub, decent (quiet) background music and no TV . Wonderfully friendly staff. Typical beer prices and reasonably priced good honest food.
None of your pre-cooked meals here, seems like the chef has traveled the Pacific and it’s the best dessert island cooking ever! If you are a beer fan this is for you but if you are into wine these too are some of the best choices I have come across and surprisingly it’s not 100 a bottle! - all highly affordable and punches way above it’s weight. If you are staying you’re in for another comfortable treat too. A lot of thought and TLC has gone into making this a great experience!!
Stayed here just before Christmas and the room was great. Food was really good and the breakfast set you up for the day. Staff brilliant and very friendly. Would stop here again when we come over to visit family.
